Open porches are great - until your neighbor's line of sight becomes your problem. Or until the mosquitoes find you. That's the exact situation a lot of homeowners deal with, and it's usually what keeps them from actually using their outdoor space the way they intended.

This is what we were working with here - a beautiful covered porch with wood beam posts, a tongue-and-groove ceiling, and a ceiling fan. Solid bones. But it was wide open on all sides, which meant no real privacy and zero protection from bugs. Good porch, just not a usable one for very long.

What we did was install privacy screening across the full perimeter of the porch. This isn't your standard window screen material. The dark screening we use here does two things really well - it blocks the view in from the outside while still letting airflow through, and it keeps bugs out so you can actually sit outside without getting eaten alive. As our owner puts it: privacy screening keeps bugs and neighbors' eyes out of your private paradise. That pretty much nails it.

The difference between the before and after is hard to ignore. The porch went from a pass-through space to an enclosed retreat that still feels open and connected to the outdoors. The dark screen color also ties in cleanly with the black trim and railing on the home - it doesn't look like an afterthought, it looks like it was always supposed to be there.

If you've got a porch you're not using because of bugs, lack of privacy, or both - this is the kind of upgrade that actually solves the problem. We serve the Clarksville area and specialize in exactly this type of screen porch work.
