Some backyards are just too good to sit inside and stare at. This one backs up to a dense tree line with mature hardwoods all around - it practically begs you to be outside. The only problem? Bugs. A wooded setting like this comes with plenty of them, and that makes evenings outside pretty miserable without some kind of barrier.
That's exactly why this homeowner called us. We built out a fully screened deck enclosure off the back of the house - elevated, roofed, and completely screened in on all sides. The result is a space that gives you everything the outdoors has to offer - the breeze, the shade, the sounds of the trees - without giving the mosquitoes an open invitation.
The structure itself is solid. The roofline ties directly into the house, keeping the whole thing feeling like it belongs there rather than something tacked on. A ceiling fan keeps the air moving even on still days. Below the deck, the tall post framing leaves the space underneath open and accessible too. Nothing cramped, nothing thrown together.
What we love about a screen deck build like this one is how much it extends the usable square footage of the home. This isn't just a place to stand for five minutes. It's a full outdoor room - one that gets used morning, noon, and night without the constant battle against insects. That's a real quality-of-life difference.
Screen enclosures work especially well on lots like this one where the natural surroundings are part of the appeal. You're not trying to block the view - you're just keeping the pests out while letting everything else in. Fresh air, natural light, the sound of wind through the trees. That's outdoor living done right.
